StoryBuddy: AI Tale Maker is operated by Futuron Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, processed, and shared when you use StoryBuddy, contact support, or interact with this website.
2. Information StoryBuddy may process
Depending on how you use the app, StoryBuddy may process the following categories of information:
- Child profile details, such as a child’s name, age, interests, preferences, and saved story setup information.
- Story inputs and outputs, such as prompts, custom ideas, favorite themes, and generated story content.
- Optional child photo uploads, when a parent chooses to upload a photo for illustration personalization.
- Purchase history and subscription status, to confirm access to paid features. Apple processes the payment transaction itself.
- Support communications, such as emails sent to support@futuron.ai, feedback, and troubleshooting details you include in your messages.
3. How StoryBuddy uses this information
StoryBuddy may use this information to:
- Generate personalized stories and related illustrations.
- Provide narration, saved story history, favorites, and app functionality.
- Maintain subscriptions, restore purchases, and confirm feature access.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot app issues.
- Improve reliability, security, fraud prevention, and product quality.
4. AI services and optional child photos
StoryBuddy may use third-party AI services to help generate story text and illustrations. If a parent chooses to upload a child photo, that photo may be sent to a third-party AI service solely to personalize illustrations for that request. If no photo is uploaded, StoryBuddy can still generate stories and illustrations without it.
Before AI-powered story features are used in the app, StoryBuddy presents an in-app disclosure explaining what information may be processed. Parents can decide whether to upload a child photo. Uploading a photo is optional.
5. Payments and purchases
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. StoryBuddy and Futuron Inc do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive information such as purchase history, subscription status, expiration, and entitlement information necessary to provide app functionality and restore purchases.
6. Sharing of information
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, including hosting, analytics, purchase validation, customer support, and AI processing providers. We do not sell personal information.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or our services.
7. Data retention
Retention may vary depending on the type of information and how the service is used. For example, support emails may be retained as needed to resolve issues and keep support records. Story content, profile data, and optional child photos may also be stored or processed as needed to provide features, backups, security, and service operation. We aim to keep data only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes and legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information in transit and at rest. Data sent between the app, our systems, and trusted providers is transmitted using secure channels such as HTTPS. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and improve protections over time.
9. Children’s information
StoryBuddy is intended for use by parents or guardians creating bedtime content for children. Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding what information to provide, including whether to upload a child photo. Please do not submit information you are not comfortable sharing for story generation and personalization.
10. Your choices
- You can choose whether to upload a child photo.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.
- You can contact us if you want to ask questions about support emails or request deletion of support communications, subject to legal and operational requirements.
11. International processing
Depending on the services used to operate StoryBuddy, information may be processed in countries other than your own. When we use third-party providers, we expect them to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the services they provide.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice inside the app or through other reasonable means.
